Thankfully I can continue to produce my ceramics during the Covid 19 pandemic as I work on my own from home. My post is collected by Royal mail every weekday from my studio so I can keep posting without having to venture out to the post office. I am just offering delivery to the UK and some European countries until things have settled down.
Welcome to my online shop. New work is added to the shop as it comes out of the kiln. All my ceramics are designed, handmade, finished and packaged by me in my home studio. At times my shop will be quite bare during busy times but I refresh it regularly with new things as they emerge from the kiln so please do check back regularly. I welcome enquiries about remaking sold work but some things are one offs. I don't make teapots to order.
The materiality of clay and it's interaction with glaze interests me and I am continually testing new glazes to achieve different surface effects. I am drawn to colours and textures of natural landscapes and my geographical location by the sea can be sensed in my ceramics. I have always loved drawing and I combine my illustrations of simple everyday narratives to create my pottery for people to use every day. My aim is to create ceramics with character which are a pleasure to hold and use as well as look at.
I have collaborated with clients such as the National Trust and the National Museum of Scotland. I graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1996.
